Banned whitefish in Yerevan’s streets

December 26,2017 12:58

Despite the fact that catching whitefish is banned from December 20 to January 15, whitefish is freely sold in the capital. “Let us live, what do you want from us? We keep our families”, this is how whitefish sellers responded when they heard that catching whitefish and selling was banned.

Yesterday the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body went out for a “raid”: they searched for whitefish, found as well. Many of illegal whitefish sellers did not give up easily, some of them were getting surprised and angry when the inspectors were reprimanding them saying they were doing an illegal thing: “Dude, everything is okay, this have been agreed. All that is legal and this is illegal?”. The “uprising” of these sellers was reaching up to a heated squabble.
