Last year I read about businessman Robert Tatulyan (Robson) living in Sochi for the first time, when rumour was spread that he had been arrested during the “thieves in law” gathering in Prague. Then the rumour was refuted, but, of course, Armenian journalists became interested in this person. Google’s search engine brings information about Tatulyan as “criminal authority”, “nominated by Grandpa Hassan”, his name is associated with the phenomena, which translated from Russian are called “incursion” and “settling of accounts”. Besides, Tatulyan received US sanctions, which characterizes a person not badly, it is just another detail in the portrait of that figure.
Personally, for me publications are not criteria, after all it is possible to invent any kind of information, article. The way a person talks about himself, the language he uses to formulate his thoughts is a criterion for me. For that purpose, I watched his interview to the “Blog Sochi”. First of all, Robson’s home decor is remarkable: gilded “royal” chairs, which are clear indicators of taste and level of “greed”. His speech… Just imagine our businessmen parliamentarians or generals spoke in Russian and told exclusively about “how cool guys they are”. If you managed to imagine then you will understand who Tatulyan is with his outlook and perception of the world.
But after all, if a person is a “thief”, is “blatnoi,” living under the laws of the Russian business “taiga”, it is his and his fellow citizens’ business. What interested us was that this person was having rides with his “Jeep entourage” with Armenian Diplomatic plate numbers, because it turns out that he was the advisor of the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs. What advice Robson could give to Edward Nalbandian, I cannot say, but it is clear that the ministry, as well as all other government agencies need to be more scrupulous in appointing advisors, so that such people do not defame our state, especially beyond the borders of Armenia. Our deputies and generals are plenty enough…
Recent days the candidacy of the 4th President of Armenia was being discussed (although everything is already clear). And I recalled Robson because the Armenian “elite” is basically comprised of such “Robsons”. Perhaps the election of the president will notify the change of that elite?
