The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Karen Karapetyan, started the regular session of the government with assignments, one of which referred to the administration of construction field. “During 2017, in particular at the end of the year, growth was recorded in the construction field and in the near future, we expect a speed increase of that growth. Within 2018’s report a reference was made to construction permit provision and certain issues have been recorded”, informed Mr. Karapetyan, saying on that occasion a respective order was given in October 2017.
In the result of the simultaneously conducted observations and meetings with the planners, according to Karen Karapetyan, a necessity of simplification and clarification of common requirements defined by legal acts on administration in the construction field have emerged. Taking those issues into consideration, the PM assigned the Minister of the Regional Administration and Development, the Head of State Urban Development Committee, regional governors and the Mayor of Yerevan to develop a package of suggestions aimed at the clarification of the whole of procedures in construction field and simplifications of the order of providing administration permits and conclusions to the competent entities, as well as clarifications of discretionary powers and submit to the government in a one-month term.
Besides that, the PM assigned the head of the government staff and the head of State Urban Development Committee to organize a consultation with the participation of the planners and investors, preparing all beneficiary structures in a 10-day term: “Here we expect certain activation in the construction field in 2018. We should maximally hear what hinders them and set a very simple mechanism which will be a right occasion for various comments.”
