Zaruhi Postanjyan, leader of “Yerkir Tsirani” party, who went to Akhalkalaki with her party members to carry out a campaign, was not allowed to cross the border in the Georgian section of the Bavra checkpoint. The customs officers and the police provided a document in Georgian and without any reason they said that Mrs. Postanjyan could not cross the border. We were informed about this from Zaruhi Postanjyan’s Facebook page.
From the Bavra checkpoint, addressing Akhalkalaki people, Mrs. Postanjyan said: “I am sorry dear Akhalkalaki people that we were not allowed to meet with you, we needed to deliver revolutionary materials to you as well”.
According to Zaruhi Postanjyan: “We visited Javakhk as part of our homeland too because our compatriots live in Javakhk, we believe that the pan-Armenian uprising should take place with a broad Armenian participation, and therefore, this time, when we started our campaign in Artsakh and completed in Javakhk, we visited places beyond Armenian borders, the US and other countries, this time we decided to start the campaign from the northern part of Armenia. We consider Akhalkalaki as a part of Armenia, and we should inform our compatriots that we can no longer continue living like this and that we are losing Armenia, and we must get rid of this illegal system of Armenia. Akhalkalaki and Bogdanovka were the first points to visit in the north, and our community was waiting for us there, but we were not allowed”.
Mrs. Postanjyan said that they would return to Gyumri and continue their campaign in Gyumri, Artik, Maralik, and Amasia.
Member of “Yerkir Tsirani” faction, Marina Khachatryan assured that the Georgian side’s behavior was illegal: “But this will not be a hindrance to our work, our pan-Armenian uprising, raising awareness of the people. We will carry out all our activities in Armenia, and anyway, we will also include our Akhalkalaki compatriots in this process. No one, no illegal authorities, no Serzh Sargsyan can keep us from our steps to save our homeland”.
Members of “Yerkir Tsirani” party urged people to join the national struggle.
