The Turkish Armed Forces received the second human loss within the framework of the “Olive Branch” military operation carried out in the Kurdish populated Afrin region of Syria.
According to the Turkish “Haberler.com” news website, Senior Lieutenant of the Turkish Armed Forces, Oguz Kagan Usta, was killed in the clashes with the Syrian “People’s Self-Defence Forces” militants.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavusoglu noted about the killed soldier on his Twitter post.
Let us note, that earlier on January 23, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the country reported about the loss of the first Turkish soldier as a result of clashes with Kurds in Syria.
Let us remind, that “Free Syrian Army” faction, which is supported by the official Ankara, invaded Syrian Afrin region, controlled by Kurds in Syria, with the support of Turkish Air Force, on January 20. The ultimate goal of “Olive Branch” military operation is to take the 30km territory bordering Turkey from the Syrian Kurds and establish a security zone there.
