Armenia goes on without Armenian-Turkish protocols

January 26,2018 13:32

“Armenian side is not going to go to any unilateral compromise, although we are realistic, we have not fallen from the Moon and we understand how much power each country has. But it does not give right to any country to put a precondition before us”, told deputy speaker of the Parliament of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov, referring to Armenian-Turkish protocols. Let us remind you that the President of the Republic of Armenia spoke about this from the tribune of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe yesterday too. Earlier the President had announced from the UN tribune that Armenia will start the spring 2018 without those protocols.

“The Republic of Armenia is for relations with neighbors without preconditions and regional stability. In Armenian-Turkish relations we will never take any step contradicting to the document we were signing. And those documents did not constitute any precondition, any unilateral compromise”, added Mr. Sharmazanov, reminding that during April War Turkey supported Azerbaijani military aggression.

At the same hall, answering to the same question, the editor of “Zhamanak” daily newspaper published in Turkey, Ara Gochunyan stated: “Turkish parliamentarian Tugrul Turkes, who asked the President of the Republic of Armenia a question, was the member of “Grey Wolves” party, but later became “Justice and Development” party member, for a period he has taken the deputy PM’s position of Turkey.”

Tugrul Turkes is “Nationalist Movement” party’s founder Alparslan Turkes’s son.
