According to political analyst Gagik Hambaryan, the scandal raised in Armenia around Russian-Armenian businessman Ruben Tatulyan aka Robson is senseless. According to him, many criminal groups are fighting against the Armenian community of Krasnodar territory to take over their businesses, and it is possible to call to order only through their representatives.
According to our interlocutor, this is an internationally accepted practice, for instance, the most dangerous mafia groups in the United States, members of the Chinese triads, Japanese Yakuza, Vietnamese and Italian mafia, and members of the “Armenian Power”, are called to order through their representatives.
“As a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, I would be very glad that our society was free from criminal elements, but we do not live in a purely legal world. Both criminal elements in Europe and the United States have the same functions as those do in Russia or Armenia. If I refer to Ruben Tatulyan, I would say that he is a person living in Sochi, who is mainly engaged in charity, the information about whose criminal stories is merely gossip. Even if that is true, what is the sense to voice it out? If we are pursuing him that much, who will protect the interests of the Armenian community in the Krasnodar territory, where we have more than one million Armenians?
We know very well what country Russia is and what kind of morals there are. Let us take Robson, so if he is not there, North Caucasian criminal elements: Dagestanians, Abkhazians, Ossetians, Chechens will loot the Armenian community immediately. Of course, we would be happy if every issue was resolved legally, but now we deal with Russia. Do not the supporters of the Western values ask themselves how come a famous Armenian thief in law who directly robbed the Medicare American Medical Insurance Company with more than 100 participants years ago in the USA is free now? At that time, CNN, ABC, Fox News dedicated their entire broadcast time to that Armenian thief in law for 3-4 days, arrested him, and declared that he would be imprisoned for life, be deported from the United States. This very man is now in the US in freedom and recently celebrated his 50th birthday in Los Angeles. I am personally glad that he is in the United States because otherwise the Mexican, Chinese, Vietnamese who have their own criminal groups will immediately “devour” the Armenians there. Does not the United States realize that he is a thief in law and a criminal element?”, said Gagik Hambaryan.
According to him, such people, of course, should not be given a position of an advisor or an assistant in the state structures, but making a fuss at the same time, ignoring their importance in places threatening for Armenians is not in our interests.
“How do these criminal elements live in Europe? Do not the police in European major countries, Belgium, France, Italy know about these thieves in law so that they are in freedom? Everyone knows, this is just a policy, and we have to abstain from making a scandal on all this and insulting people. They say Robson is close with Russian President Putin. If it is beneficial to a person like Putin, why do we make so much noise about him? Famous US singer Frank Sinatra was a direct intermediary between the US government and the bandit groups, mafia in New York, and Chicago. But no one voiced it out, and Sinatra’s reputation did not drop.
Gagik Hambaryan also touched upon Benik Khachatryan, a resident of Gyumri, who died in 2006 from the airplane crash. “This man has helped Armenian community in Rostov-on-Don thousands of times more than the Armenian Consulate in that city. We would be glad if the world was perfect and there was no mafia, but if the Japanese government clearly states that Japanese Yakuza has provided financial assistance to victims of the Fukushima disaster, what are we concerned about so much?
If the Italian authorities are moderately fighting against the Italian mafia, but the mafia will always be there, what are we talking about?
