‘Yelq’ starts petitions

February 06,2018 14:45

Yesterday, during “No to Inflation!” march oppositional “Yelq” bloc leader Nikol Pashinyan announced that they initiate a petition for inviting a special session and making changes in the Tax Code. He informed that changes are possible to take place only if public pressure is in place.

Mr. Pashinyan also informed that they expected for the Government to initiate changes by itself, but inasmuch as they do not do that, “Yelq” bloc will try to implement it through a special session.

Police officers stopped the march on Mashtots Avenue, the protesters were demanding a way out. Mr. Pashinyan told that they had informed the respective bodies about it and it has been accepted: “Mashtots Ave is ours!”

Mr. Pashinyan addressed to the Police officers via loudspeaker, saying that these inflations refer also to their families, forasmuch as they also make everyday shopping and feel the results of the inflation: “Your salaries have not increased as well, and this shows once again that all classes in the Republic of Armenia will continue living not the same way, but much worse, because the inflations are spread and have an influence on all classes and fields. Our march protects also your and your families’ interests, as we say no to all these inflations by this march.”

The Police officers urged the protesters not to pass through the police chain and come out to the opposite traffic.
