Yerevan Municipality has again become the target of criticism after the New Year, in terms of its expenses. In particular, 10 million was spent on buying ice sculptures and bouquets to decorate the building. During an interview with journalists Aravot.am inquired of Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Kamo Areyan, whether the municipality does not care about reconsidering its expenses, which constantly lead to criticism. Journalists reminded about the case of spending 30 million on brandy, noting that actually, it was not a lesson learned.
Kamo Areyan replied: “It was a lesson, just this is a very delicious topic for you, you address the same questions every year. For God’s sake, it was announced, the budget was publicly discussed, during the council session, the public discussions the whole process of budget discussion was covered, these are reasonable, moderate costs, in line with the municipality’s expenses”.
He said he did not know who had evaluated those costs and where they came from. According to him, the topic of these expenses is turning into a rumor. “These costs are justified, I have no other answer to you, goodbye, farewell, take care”.
