As it is known, the names of people close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, including Samvel Karapetyan, head of “Tashir” group of companies, are enlisted in the so-called “Kremlin Report” of the US Treasury. Will these sanctions affect Armenia and whether this is a hint? Reporters addressed this question to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Shavarsh Kocharyan after the governmental session. “Let us clarify: the press and the US list are totally different things. As far as I know, that person is not on the list”, Kocharyan responded to the question.
In response to the question whether the Armenian government intends to discuss the issue of sanctions, in order to avoid the sanctions, Kocharyan said: “In any case, we must take all the existing developments into account. In my opinion, the question that has been raised does not correspond to the reality. The existing danger is exaggerated, but that does not mean that we should neglect it, we must be cautious”.
Kocharyan assured: “There is no such specific question requiring negotiations with both the Russian and American sides”.
