Armen Sargsyan elected as Armenia’s President: 10 MPs voted against

Today, the 4th presidential elections took place at the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. 101 out of 105 MPs took part in the secret voting. Pursuant to the data provided by the Counting Committee of the Parliament, 90 MPs had voted in favor of the sole candidate – Armen Sargsyan. Subsequently, he was elected as the President of the Republic of Armenia. The number of people voted against amounted to 10. 1 ballot was recognized invalid. The President is going to undertake the position during the special session of the Parliament on April 9.
