The Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey and the Government’s spokesperson, Bekir Bozdag has represented official data on “Olive Branch” military operation in Afrin having lasted for already over a month.
As reported by Bozdal, 42 Turkish soldiers were killed and 202 were injured in Afrin until now. Apart from that, 7 peaceful residents are killed and 125 injured in the result of the Kurdish fire attack on Turkish towns located near the border. The Deputy PM stated that the Kurdish side has 3381 victims in Afrin.
Currently, the Turkish military force has set a control over 202 districts in Afrin, 37 of which have a strategic significance. The Turkish official has also informed that on March 19, Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlut Cavusoglu will arrive in the US, where they are going to discuss the issue of Manbij city under Kurdish control with American officials. He has confirmed the words of the Turkish Foreign Minister implying that the US and Turkey have agreed that the Kurds should leave Manbij. He said Turkey has represented its expectations very clear as regards the Kurdish issue.
Let us remind you that “Free Syrian Army”, enjoying the support of official Ankara, invaded into Syrian Afrin enclave which is under the control of the Syrian Kurds on January 20. The ultimate objective of “Olive Branch” military operation is to take 30 km Syrian territory beyond the Syrian-Turkish border and found a security zone there.
