The head of the “My Step” initiative, Nikol Pashinyan, once again touched upon his plan during whether how the failure of Serzh Sargsyan’s third term will take place.
According to Pashinyan, the people will gather at Liberty Square, the main task is not to allow Prime Minister’s election to be carried out by the Republicans’ scenario. “Which will be followed by the second elections, where the parliamentary majority will have to make a choice: either to choose any prime minister or to hold early parliamentary elections in accordance with the law. At this stage, if the people have a candidate, they can ask the National Assembly to elect him, provided that the early elections will take place not at the moment, but after a certain time, to put political processes in logical order. But I do not exclude that the people wish to hold early parliamentary elections now”.
Then Pashinyan responded to Edmon Marukyan, head of the “Bright Armenia” and member of the “Yelq” bloc, who had commented on why he did not join Pashinyan’s initiative. Pashinyan said: “Let me remind that our bloc partners point out that if the political processes in Liberty Square proceed as we expect, that is if tens of thousands of people gather, then they will join. I hope Marukyan’s article is not a refusal to join our fight”.
Let us remind that Pashinyan addressed several of Marukyan’s comments on not joining the “Civil Contract”, and being against to such a fight at this stage.
