“The Lord is my helper,” pronounced the 4th President of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Sargsyan, after his inauguration speech during the official ceremony.
Let us note – this expression was made beyond the protocol text. The official text is as follows: “I swear that I shall execute the office of the President of the Republic of Armenia, and unequivocally fulfill the requirements of the Constitution, respect the human rights and the rights of the citizens, provide the independence, territorial integrity and security of the Republic to the glory of our fatherland and to the welfare of our people.”
None of three Presidents of Armenia had ever improvised in such way during inauguration ceremony before.
Let us remind you that suchlike expression is envisaged by the protocol text of the United States of America. At the end of their speech, the US Presidents pronounce – God bless America!
