“Our revolution is spreading in Armenia and the Diaspora”, member of the “My Step” initiative, National Assembly “Yelq” faction MP Nikol Pashinyan announced at the rally in Republic Square, adding that composer Armen Movsisyan, singer Lilit Pipoyan, actors Hayk Marutyan and Hovhannes Azoyan have spoken in support of the movement.
“This process must get new dimensions and scales every day and Serzh Sargsyan must feel alone in his recently privatized private house”, Nikol Pashinyan announced.
He also informed that a protest action was also held in Marseilles. It is perhaps the most symbolic one: the Armenians of Marseilles entered the Armenian consulate in Marseille, took Serzh Sargsyan’s picture out of there and burned it publicly. Hayk Barseghyan, the son of Levon Barseghyan, who is the president of the “Asparez” journalists’ club in Gyumri, also entered one of the educational institutions to remove Serzh Sargsyan’s picture.
Nikol Pashinyan announced that there were mass demonstrations in Gyumri and Vanadzor. Villagers blocked the road in Bjni. He said that people continue to provide financial assistance to the movement.
“This is the first mass movement in the post-Soviet territory that has taken place in the past 20 years, the name of which is not linked to any foreign force and this is our pride”, the speaker announced.
