I must confess that until April 20 I assumed that the opposition movement would end. But my mistake is forgivable because I could not imagine how much our authorities were cut off from life and, in particular, how their outlook was outdated about the modern technology of information dissemination. But this is a separate topic.
The situation defused quickly and fortunately without bloodshed. It is easy to write curses addressed to the third President now (I think it was not difficult during his office either). Now the time will not evaluate Serzh Sargsyan’s 30-year activity in which there were bright pages, mistakes, and failures, as in case of any other politician. But he left not like other politicians would do, that is a fact.
The solution continues to be the dialogue. To be honest, when I was writing about the dialogue a few days ago, I did not mean sitting in front of dozens of journalists and blaming each other on the live stream. I assume that something like that will also happen at tomorrow’s plenary session. The Prosperous Armenia party, forgetting that half of the faction voted for Serzh Sargsyan, will perform from super-revolutionary positions and will convince that they were always with Pashinyan.
The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Party also will say that a new era has started in Armenia. Republican Party members will try to resist slightly.
For this reason, I think it is not wise to convene a plenary session at once and lose time on hypocrisy. The case will go much faster if close consultations are held with the parliamentary factions, and only then the agreed decision is brought to the plenary session.
What I am currently writing, I know many will not like. Under the influence of revolutionary euphoria, the Republican Party’s activity should not be stopped: who believes in these ideas, can continue his activities, And whoever has taken a party ticket, for example, “for other reasons” (and usually it happens in the ruling party), he will anyway run away. Rat racing is inevitable.
