As we have already informed, Acting Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan refused to participate in the negotiations that were planned for today, at 12 PM Armenian time.
A couple of hours ago Nikol Pashinyan put his backpack and hat on the place where Karen Karapetyan was supposed to sit.
Pashinyan said to the journalists that if a Republican gets the Prime Minister’s post, they will have to submit certain explanations. To the question whether what his thoughts are concerning 1 May, he answered that he foresees that hundreds of thousands of Armenians go out to Yerevan streets, gather in the streets and squares including those of the Parliament at 8 o’clock in the morning.
Whether what the positions of the Parliament factions are, Pashinyan said that the Armenian Revolutionary Federation and the Prosperous Armenia Party will have their positions clarified by the 1st of May.
Pashinyan said that Karen Karapetyan was not much sure about his negotiation position, that is why he did not come. And in case he is not sure, how is he going to negotiate on the Karabakh issue?
To the question whether how he evaluates negotiations with Putin, Pashinyan said that the Russian Federation will not interfere with Armenia’s domestic business, and this is exactly a domestic business.
According to Pashinyan, Karen Karapetyan probably wants to create an imitation that he enjoys the support of foreign countries, but this is Armenia’s domestic issue, other countries should not interfere with it.
To the question whether how Pashinyan sees himself appointed as Prime Minister as he does not have enough mandates, he answered that they have got the main and most important mandate.
Thousands of people come to the Republic of Armenia from the Russian Federation, Europe, Diaspora and take part in the movement. That is their mandate. They hope that they will come to Armenia afterwards, and organize their activities there.
To the question whether he thinks it possible that Tsarukyan is nominated, Pashinyan answered that every step will be precisely assessed by the people.
