During the rally in Gyumri Nikol Pashinyan, leader of the movement “Make a step” against ruling Republican party, said that some people want to present that they after coming to power they geopolitically and economically will war against Russia.
“I just want to say a simple thing. I don’t even want to say that we are not the enemy of Russia at all, but we are not the enemy of our country,” said Pashinyan.
He also announced that they never said that Armenia should leave Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) which is an intergovernmental military alliance signed by Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
“We guarantee that Armenia will not leave CSTO, not because we love or hate that organization but because it stems from the national interest of the Republic of Armenia. We will also work to make that organization work more efficiently and provide much more serious guarantees for the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh,” Pashinyan said adding that Armenia will remain loyal to its international obligations including Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the European Union.
