After their meeting in Armenia Marriott Hotel, opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan and “Tsarukyan” alliance leader Gagik Tsarukyan made a statement.
Gagik Tsarukyan said he would support the people’s candidate Nikol Pashinyan for the second time in the elections. “We met with Mr. Pashinyan without preconditions, the victory is the people’s, the people will decide, we will vote for the people’s candidate for the first, second and the third time, our word is an action, God bless all of us”, said Mr. Tsarukyan.
According to him, when Mr. Pashinyan, Sasun Mikayelyan and Ararat Mirzoyan were arrested, they went out and declared that they were with the people, the political situation changed: “Today, my presence here will also change the political situation”, said Mr. Tsarukyan, urging to support Nikol Pashinyan.
In response to the question whether what has changed, Gagik Tsarukyan said: “Your strength is stable, you are united, the whole world has joined us”. After this statement, the protesters chanted “Nikol, Nikol,” then “Tsarukyan, Tsarukyan”.
Nikol Pashinyan said that the “Tsarukyan” alliance faction will support the Prime Minister candidate for the May 8 election, assuring that the situation has changed: “I think the Republican Party will express its position”.
