“Most possibly, the elections of the Prime Minister will take place on May 8 and Pashinyan will be elected as the PM. However, let us not hurry. Regardless of the results, any scenario is foreseeable to us, we have planned steps envisaged for all cases,” announced the member of Yerevan City Council from “Yelq” bloc and “Civil Contact” party member, Arayik Harutyunyan.
He assured that Nikol Pashinyan and the temporary government governed by him will become the guarantor of new – free and fair extraordinary parliamentary election organization: “That issue has not allowed for years to form a government representing the society.”
Arayik Harutyunyan also informed that issue of future government composition has not been discussed within “Civil Contact” party: “The creative personnel in the political field will find a place in the government, the formation of which is not going to be based on a single person. We have candidates from diaspora as well.”
Asked why the Republicans voted against Nikol Pashinyan on May 1, and now they state they will support his candidacy on May 8, Arayik Harutyunyan responded: “Huge pressure was put on RPA MPs, with that reason they voted against univocally. And on May 2, when a massive social movement took place, the position was changed.”
