During his speech in the Republic Square, Nikol Pashinyan was telling how he had visited Gyumri with Arsinee Khanjian, a Canadian-Armenian actress. Note that Serj Tankian was in the Square as well.
“We had no idea what was going to happen on our way there, and that all the roads in Ashtarak, Ararat, and all the other villages, were closed. And when we went out, they welcomed us with bread and salt, singing and dancing. Arsine Khanjian was constantly writing to Atom Egoyan and Serj Tankian telling them it was a pity they were not present and could not see what was going on. But today, it turned out that on the way from the airport “Zvartnots” to Yerevan, the same thing happened and Serzh Sargsyan…”, confused Nikol Pashinyan.
Serj Tankian rushed to the stage, embraced Pashinyan and said: “Do not reject me, dear”. Pashinyan answered: “Dear Serj, in course of the last 15 years it has become an automatic regime, that whenever I say Serj, Sargsyan comes afterwards, I am sorry”. “And Tankian saw all Arsine Khanjian had seen”, continued Pashinyan.
Let us remind you, that massive demonstrations started in Armenia against former President of the country Serzh Sargsyan who was elected as Prime Minister. Demonstrators were striking, blocking the streets, paralyzing the traffic and demanding his resagnation. “Reject Serzh” has vebe one of their slogans.
