Nikol Pashinyan was elected Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia by 59 votes for and 42 votes against. After the voting, Pashinyan plans to make changes in the leadership of defense and security sectors. As Pashinyan assured, he will take part at the EAEU summit.
In response to the question whether Pashinyan is planning to overturn the government’s program, the latter said: “To be honest, I have not thought about it yet. The first thing I will do is to listen to the report of the armed forces and internal security bodies on the security environment of our country”, said Pashinyan.
Whether he can publish names from the new government, Pashinyan responded that it will happen as a result of discussions, now he cannot publish names. Pashinyan said many candidates have been discussed because there are many politicians and professionals in Armenia who must definitely participate in the country’s governance. “There should be no Super-Prime Ministry system in Armenia”, Pashinyan said. Pashinyan will visit Artsakh tomorrow.
