“We will help the government with our criticism”, said the Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia Armen Ashotyan during his meeting with foreign journalists today, stressing that the issues concerning the Karabakh conflict and the forced arms is most sacred for them.
Armen Ashotyan considered the victory of Nikol Pashinyan phenomenal, the leader of the party “Civil Contract”, explaining that the party did not have any local institution. As for the phenomenon, he is conditioned by the factor of the started movement.
“In the contemporary countries such processes very often bring to the government those people, who are the leaders of movements, not parties”, said Armen Ashotyan, recalling the example of the French president Macron.
Referring to the snap parliamentary elections, the RPA Vice President said that those pieces of information are rumors: “Anyway there is a new Prime Minister; the next step will be the formulation of the government, after which the government project will be introduced to the parliamentarians”.
As stated by Ashotyan, the political field of Armenia is in “turbulence”: “That political turbulence can have an unpredictable end or turn into a more serious shock. For that reason I hope, that all the political powers that are responsible for the situation in the country and decision-making, can make the so called revolution of love and peace not to remain just a beautiful slogan, that thousands of people believed in”.
