Today, addressing the publications constituting that Davit Tonoyan is a possible candidate in the Defense Minister’s position, resigned Minister of Defense, Vigen Sargsyan said that he viewed Davit Tonoyan as a suitable candidate, inasmuch as according to him the latter knows the Ministry of Defence well, has good knowledge and experience.
As stated by the Minister, Davit Tonoyan will also have a better source for comparison and will be able to assess the work carried out in the past 1.5 years and its effectiveness.
Vigen Sargsyan repeated his opinion stated earlier, that the minister is not a hired employee, he is a member of a political team: “I was surprised by Davit Tonoyan’s response, the announcements that Ararat Mirzoyan made at the Republic Square, that Tonoyan’s candidacy is being discussed. It means to leave the doors open for suchlike negotiations by being in the Government at the same time. I, in person, have never done this way, I have considered it as a taboo for myself. However, people think in different ways, they live in different ways, it was his personal choice. Times of revolutions always presuppose orientation, although I want to record something – what has taken place I do not consider a revolution, because the revolution is the change of state and legal system. And we have had a shift of power,” stated Vigen Սargsyan.
