On May 12, in compliance with the stipulated rules of procedure, the ceremony of position transmission of the Defense Minister of the Republic of Armenia took place. The former Minister of Defense, Vigen Sargsyan has passed the military flag of the Ministry to Davit Tonoyan, the new Minister.
The ceremony taken place in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, was preceded by a few hours of briefing, during which Vigen Sargsyan introduced Davit Tonoyan the work the Ministry of Defense had carried out during the previous one and a half year according to directions, issues and projects.
Afterwards the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Davit Tonoyan and Vigen Sargsyan, accompanied by high-ranking officers of the Armed Forces, visited “Yerablur” military pantheon and payed tribute to the National Hero of Armenia Vazgen Sargsyan, Commander Andranik Ozanyan and the Armenian soldiers, who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of their fatherland.
