Nairi Petrosyan, the head of the Armenian Third President’s office, responded to the article, “How did Russia play the role of silent kingmaker in the Armenian Revolution?” published in Reuters.
“As Head of the Third President Serzh Sargsyan’s office, I want to inform Margarita Antidze that during the events of April 2018, Serzh Sargsyan did not discuss with any foreign leader the issue of establishing an emergency situation in the state”, Petrosyan wrote on his Facebook page.
Publisher Margarita Antidze had written that prior to his resignation, Serzh Sargsyan discussed with his personal allies and officials the possibility of establishing a state of emergency in Armenia, which would allow law enforcement bodies to use force against demonstrators.
