At the sitting of the Eurasian Economic Commission, which was also attended by the newly-elected Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, important decisions were made to promote the integration programs. The Eurasian Economic Commission Board Chairman Tigran Sargsyan said at a press conference after the session.
According to him, the possible cooperation between the EAEU countries with third countries is among these issues. According to Sargsyan, at the session the report on the two-year accession of the Republic of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan to the EAEU, which was compiled jointly with the governments of the Republic of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan: “The result exceeded our expectations. Mutual trade indicators have dramatically increased. This means that the trade conditions of the EAEU have a positive impact on the trade turnover between the two countries”.
Tigran Sargsyan also stated that several dozen countries are interested in establishing direct economic ties with the EAEU: “This applies, for example, to the possibility of signing a free trade agreement”. According to Sargsyan, Iran gradually opens its developing market, and the EAEU is interested in deepening trade ties with Iran.
