May 15,2018 15:42

The approaches of the newly-elected Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the “Armenian Revolutionary Federation” are quite similar in regard to the Armenian-Turkish relations, but the time will show how much united the parties will act. Arthur Yeghiazaryan, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Supreme Body, told reporters about this at a press conference.

He expressed a conviction that the Armenian-Turkish relations should be settled by a package version, discussing the the issues one by one: “Armenian-Turkish relations should be normalized, it is inevitable”. Let us remind that the Armenian-Turkish protocols were canceled in March.

According to the political scientist, relations with Turkey should be without preconditions: “Our biggest concession is that we do not bring forward the Armenian Genocide issue as a precondition. Turkey should also reconsider its approaches. Until it does not give up setting preconditions on Artsakh, we will have nothing to say. We are ready for a dialogue without any preconditions”.

Arthur Yeghiazaryan noted that Armenian Revolutionary Federation welcomes Nikol Pashinyan’s statement that Artsakh issue should be returned to the negotiation table: “This should be the guideline for the Armenian side. Now we need to work with the OSCE mediators and insist on that approach”.
