Armenian “Zhoghovurd” newspaper has interviewed economist Mesrop Arakelyan on the topic of the possible losses in the field of economy, as well as the challenges standing in front of PM Nikol Pashinyan’s Government.
-Mr. Arakelyan, has the pan-national movement of about past one month had an influence on the economy?
-No essential changes have been noticed in a short-term period in the economy, however, the fact of the revolution has already increased the trust towards the future significantly, which, I am sure, will bring positive changes. Of course, passiveness has been noticed during some days, which has been more conditioned by uncertainty, nevertheless essential losses the economy has not faced.
-You had mentioned that after May 1, for the losses in the economy of any day the responsibility will bear the Republican Party of Armenia.
-Before that, we had heard for many times from the RPA officials, that in the current situation we have losses, which is because of the movement. However, they created some instability by the voting on May 1 themselves. Meanwhile, all that is already in the past and the RPA accepted the victory of the pan-national movement by its decision itself very quickly.
