Journalists asked Republican MP Armen Ashotyan whether why the Republican Party does not come to a political agreement to have new elections and to form a new parliament, since the current situation can be resolved through extraordinary parliamentary elections. Armen Ashotyan responded: “Nikol Pashinyan also referred to it in his message. At this point, let us accept it as a political approach. We should wait for the new government program because rhetoric is rhetoric, speeches are speeches, interviews are interviews, but the binding legal document and concentration of ideas, the exclusive version of commitment to the actions is the government’s program, which will be subject to professional expertise by us. I think no one doubts our potential, we have professional potential in all spheres in order to do our best to promote the steady development of Armenia, both in terms of strengthening democracy, and increasing the efficiency of the implementation of sectoral policies”.
In response to the question whether he does not see the necessity of extraordinary elections, and does not consider it a solution, Armen Ashotyan said: “I think we must try to act in the entire mosaic, not in separate pieces of the agenda we expect to have and focus on those discussions. I would like to note that there is no political declaration, document, coalition between the branches of the government, document of distribution of any political commitments, therefore, Armenia’s political, economic progress and action plan will consist of more documents than rhetoric. I would like to emphasize that it is natural that I have followed and will follow the processes taking place in the foreign policy agenda of the Republic of Armenia”.
