Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Giovanni Rubini, Chief Executive Officer at Renco Spa. The meeting focused on the new thermal power plant construction project to be implemented on a site adjacent to the Yerevan thermal power plant.
Giovanni Rubini advised that the nearly USD 300 million-worth investment program provides for the construction and commissioning of a 250 MW thermal power plant within 25-28 months. He noted that low-cost energy will be produced owing to cutting-edge systems to be installed. The project will be implemented in partnership with Siemens and international financial institutions.
“We are prepared to launch the program as soon as possible. Some 1000 jobs may be generated during the construction,” Giovanni Rubini said.
The Prime Minister welcomed the investment program and stated: “We are eager to attract investments and provide new jobs. Therefore, we are interested in this project.” Nikol Pashinyan suggested coordinating the proposed activities with the relevant government agencies.
The interlocutors expressed the hope that the ongoing effective cooperation between the Armenian Government and the Italian company would lead to new investments in our country.
