Constantinople-Armenian deputy, representative of the pro-Kurdish oppositional People’s Democratic Party of Turkey, Garo Paylan has announced that only two oppositional candidates have an opportunity for taking part in the second round of the Turkish presidential election.
According to Paylan, either candidate of the pro-Kurdish party, Selahattin Demirtas, or candidate of the Kemalist Republican People’s Party, Muharrem Ince, will go through to the second round.
The Constantinople-Armenian MP excluded that the leader of the oppositional “İYİ” party, candidate for president Meral Aksener may appear in the second round. Paylan, reminding about Aksener’s anti-Armenian statements, stressed that he would never vote for him.
“Aksener was Minister of Internal Affairs in the 1990s. Back then he makes the expression “Armenian bastard”. Now, as an Armenian, how can I vote for Aksener? I have some prejudices but it is Aksener’s responsibility to eliminate them”.
