“The comment of the representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia was spot on, inasmuch as after the power shift in Armenia, the Azerbaijani media is full of active overviews, calling on the new leadership of the Republic of Armenia to resolve the conflict via the negotiation scenario outlined by Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani side has not still tempted Pashinyan during negotiations, it is not familiar with his diplomatic skills and what to expect from him, thus there was a need to make some things clear, which path the Armenian side is going to take the negotiations through and which are the priorities,” said German political scientist, Uve Halbach, referring to the current situation as regards Karabakh conflict negotiation process.
Russian political scientist, Alexander Skakov has said in his part, that the positioning of the new authorities of the Republic of Armenia on Artsakh conflict resolution, in essence, differ very little from the politics of the former authority. “The sole new emphasis is the return of Artsakh on the negotiation table, the implementation of which is a difficult issue in the conditions of these controversies in Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. Not to allow false perceptions in Azerbaijani side, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia mentions that the negotiations will restart from the point when they have ended after the last meeting and, in essence, no progress takes place during the last two years,” says Skakov.
