May 24,2018 13:43

There is no question of Taron Margaryan’s resignation on the agenda of the Republican Party of Armenia. The Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov’s personal opinion implies that the rights of the local self-governing bodies stipulated by law should be kept.

“It was at least a surprise to me, when Prime Minsiter Pashinyan said from Baghramyan 26, that he was not going to interfere in the judicial system, but would interfere in either the executive’s or the local self-governing bodies’ work. He does not have a right to interfere in the local self-governing bodies as much as he does not have a right to interfere in the judiciary,” stated the Vice Speaker of the Parliament during the interview.

Let us remind you that Nikol Pashinyan had said if he called on Taron Margaryan to resign, he would do it.

To the overview that the PM has said that Taron Margaryan was elected illegally, Eduard Sharmazanov responded, calling on to bring forth facts, otherwise he can say a lot of things about many people.

Asked if Taron Margaryan has made abuses on the ground of which criminal cases can be initiated and which, in turn, can serve as a ground for his overthrow, Eduard Sharmazanov replied – Taron Margaryan is a quite successful Mayor: “I cannot exclude or skip to exclude anything. I am not the official who should speak about criminal cases.”

Referring to “Yelq” bloc MP Alen Simonyan’s application on the renouncement of his mandate and his participation in the voting today, Eduard Sharmazanov said, that it is not a violation of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly: “Alen Simonyan will proceed being an MP still for 7 days.”
