“We are consistent in the issue of the developments in Israel, but the issue of the recognition of the Armenian Genocide is assessed from different standpoints in Israel,” said the Minister of Foreign affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, referring to the fact that the Parliament of Israel has confirmed the inclusion of the bill on the recognition of the Armenian Genocide in the agenda of the plenary session of Knesset.
As characterized by him, the mentioned process initiated in the Israeli Parliament is first and foremost a contribution to the prevention of genocides. “It is an impulse overall.”
As regards the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, the minister noted: “We have already recorded a great progress and reached an important point. Currently the importance is given to the execution of the provisions of the document.”
Zohrab Mnatsakanyan added that they will pass to the temporary use of the agreement since June 1: “We will endeavor to create conditions possible for the practical execution of that agreement.”
