Formerly there was a certain distance in the relations between the Police and the public – a gap which they will try to fill in in the near future, said the Chief of Police of the Republic of Armenia, Valeri Osipyan in the interview.
“Those relations should be on a higher level. We will work for the public not to complain from the Police,” he assured, adding that the Police has undergone reforms and will continue undergoing those.
Osipyan mentioned that they were going to work towards eliminating the vicious phenomena in the Police: “They cast a shadow on the relations between the Police and public.”
As regards corruption, the Chief of Police said: “We are going to utterly eliminate it both inside our institution and overall. Consider as if corruption has remained in the nightmare. A sole rule of law should be in place, all people should be equal before the law.”
