The Member of the House of Representatives of the US, Brad Sherman calls on Turkey and Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia.
“We recognize the 100th Anniversary of the first Republic of Armenia. We call upon Turkey to lift the blockade and Azerbaijan to stop its aggression against Artsakh,” writes the Congressman on his Twitter. Let us mention that the Congressman is one of the supporters of the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
I want to remind you that Nagorno Karabakh (or Artsakh) is the internationally recognised territory of Azerbaijan. But this region has been under armenian occupation for more than 25 years. In this situation the aggressive side is Armenia. During the Armenian occupation 20 thousand Azerbaijanis were killed, more than 50 thousand were wounded and became invalid. More than one million people living as refugees and IDPs for nearly 20 years have become victoms of ethnic cleansing and genocide, policy of Armenia against the Azerbaijanis and have been deprived of elementary human rights.
