Armenian-American businessman Arsen Sargsyan, who is the coordinator of the Armenian community of about 5,000 population in the Northern California city of Sacramento, was among the guests of the Diaspora who attended the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the First Republic of Armenia and the May victories in May.
He told Aravot.am that after “My Step” people’s movement and change of power he is going to move to the homeland. Prior to that, he lived and worked for 17 years in the United States with his family, managing a large business of vehicle building and sale with his sons.
The grandfather of four grandchildren Arsen Sargsyan told that he wanted to return to Yerevan during the first days of the popular “My Step” movement, but doctors advised not to travel because of health problems. After his private doctor’s permission, however, Mr. Sargsyan took a flight.
“We arrived the day before Serj Tankian’s arrival. On the day of his arrival, we were at the airport with posters. I was amazed how Nikol Pashinyan and his citizens welcomed him. I had never seen such unity and atmosphere before”, he told.
Arsen Sargsyan stressed that there are Armenians in the Diaspora who have great opportunities and wealth, and it is high time that they show confidence and contribute to the development of their homeland. “While walking in the streets of Yerevan I receive some special positive energy. I wish all of us to appreciate the sweetness of this country and turn the people’s victory into the final outcome. I even notice great kindness in people’s behavior”, our interlocutor told about his impressions of Yerevan.
