The extraordinary parliamentary elections are a must to the vice president of “The Rule of Law” party, Mher Shahgeldyan. Mr. Shahgeldyan announced that the elections should be held as soon as possible during the discussion on “Post-Revolutionary Armenia’s Inner Political Agenda” topic.
“Of course, amendments to the Electoral Code are necessary. The first one is the change of the ranking system, which led to the mass vote buying. The “Law on Political Parties” should also be amended. March 1 disclosure should take place. The next issue is passing a new and fair investigation on the case of “Sasna Tsrer”. There are people who should be freed, inasmuch as not all of them were inside the building, and a part of people who are sentenced were not present inside the building.”
According to the opinion of the former Deputy of the Supreme Council, Aram Mayilyan, the demand of forming political agenda is shaped by the society. As stated by Mr. Mayilyan, new political forces should emerge, which will even become competitors to “Yelq”.
Referring to “Yelq”, the Deputy of the Supreme Council said: “It came on the revolutionary wave, and revolution means emotionality, protestor spirit, and non-organization. New forces will emerge. The Republican Party of Armenia can be considered a past stage: we have seen a lot of similar things, they collide in a night.”
