On June 1, Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mane Tandilyan was in Vanadzor. Within the framework of the visit the Minister visited the orphanage in Vanadzor, where the children had organized an event:
“The children in this institution need more of our care. I want to make sure that children, no matter where and in what environment they are, believe that our state will do and must do everything to ensure that their rights are protected and respected”, said Mane Tandilyan in an interview.
In response to the question of Aravot.am about “unloading” the orphanages, the Minister said, that some work has already been done in this regard in Vanadzor, and certain processes have also been suspended due to changes in the country. However, Tandilyan assures that these works are under her immediate attention: “The program aims at providing children with families and ensuring their childhood in families. Why? Because it is important for children to have family care, nothing can replace it. But first of all we need to provide the conditions where children can have whatever they need, and in terms of their rights and protection, they need to feel at ease, feel good in their families. That does not mean that the state returning them to families, refuses to care for their problems. Of course, not”.
In an interview, Tandilyan said that there are many problems in the field. The law enforcement agencies deal with some of these. As for personnel changes, the Minister assured that the dedicated specialists will continue to work: “From the first day in my ministry and in general, I say that the precondition for their employment is good, high quality and dedicated work. The sphere we represent, deals with every citizen, and in this respect the behavior of each of us shows the face of our state. This will guarantee their long-term and safe work, nothing else”.
Talking about the increase of pensions and allowances, Mane Tandilyan said that they are discussing the issue, but at this point she does not want to make promises. “Time will show”, she said.
