Yesterday in Stepanakert the citizens and the officers of the National Security Service quarreled, in the result of which the citizens were beaten by the latter. Afterwards, on the occasion of the incident, a group of citizens closed a part of Azatamartikneri Street, the central street in stepanakert, with cars and demanded to bring the officers of the NSS to responsibility.
The information on the aforementioned is received from the Facebook publication of Artsakh “National Revival” party member and a witness, Tigran Grigoryan. During the interview with Aravot.am, the president of “National Revival” party, Member of Parliament Hayk Khanumyan said that he had not been present in the incident, but was informed of the details of the incident later on.
“Everyday issues were the reasons of the incident. I have been in the hospital and visited the injured people. Now 15 citizens are arrested by the Police and a preliminary investigation is in process. I do not want to comment on anything now, let us follow the work of the respective bodies,” noted Hayk Khanumyan.
The Press secretary to the President of Artsakh, Davit Babayan also said during the interview that a respective investigation is in process. “Everything should be done to explain what has taken place first and foremost, and if a violation of law has taken place, then the people who have committed it should be importantly taken to responsibility,” mentioned the Press secretary to the President.
Davit Babayan emphasized that the law is equal to all people and regardless of who are the violators or where they work, all of them should definitely follow the law, especially the employees of the law enforcement bodies. “The investigation will reveal everything. It is very important, inasmuch as eventually, we are a legal state and the rule of law is a priority to us,” he concluded.
