“What took place in Armenia is, mildly said, impermissible to Karabakh… fulfilling the application of the dismissal of the heads of the National Security Service and the Police will be a very heavy blow to the governmental system of Nagorno-Karabakh, from which our adversaries will not hesitate to make use of. National Security Service and the Police of Nagorno-Karabakh are the most important institutions ensuring Karabakh security after the army, which cannot be shaken… In that issue (of establishing stability – A. A.) Robert Kocharyan, Serzh Sargsyan, Arkadi Ghukasyan and Samvel Babayan are obliged to use their influence, even by releasing Samvel Babayan. By putting all controversies aside, Bako Sahakyan should not be left alone,” called on the First President of the Republic of Armenia relative to the incidents in Artsakh. By the way, it is characteristic of Levon Ter-Petrossian to neglect personal and political controversies when speaking of the state security.
The incumbent PM Nikol Pashinyan also called on to stop the protests, although, as I understood from his live video, he was not inclined to think that the fulfillment of the application of the dismissal of the heads of the National Security Service and the Police will be a heavy blow to the government system of Nagorno-Karabakh. The two former presidents, the former president of Nagorno-Karabakh similarly, have not expressed their opinions on the incidents taking place in Artsakh (expecting anything from Samvel Babayan is not fair in this condition.) Armenian radical “Facebook” users sharply criticized the approach of the First President, insisting that for the complete happiness of the Armenian nation the “robbers” should be overthrown from the power in Artsakh, and it is slightly similar to Bolshevik propaganda in WWI.
It seems to me that for any given revolution it is important to stop at the right time to prevent the snowball effect and hence the anarchy. Let me bring a simple example from another field. If it is possible to achieve the dismissal of the rector by laying in front of his cabinet, then it is possible to lay in front of the dean’s office if he notifies on the unexcused absences, and afterwards at the door of the lecturer when he grades 2. And if that “civil fight” succeeds, then one can skip the classes and prepare for exams, or attend the classes and put the feet on the table and smoke.
Now has the application for dismissal of Artsakh officials made the Republic stronger or weaker?
