Hovhannes Vardanyan released from custody on ‘Sasna Tsrer’ case

By the decision of judge Artush Gabrielyan, Hovhannes Vardanyan, member of “Sasna Tsrer” group, was released from custody. Not leaving the country was chosen as a preventive measure against him. Let us remind that Vardanyan is the third member of the armed group, being released from custody.

Similar decision was made by judge Mesrop Makyan for Areg Kyureghyan. Tigran Sargsyan was released too. Manvel Atoyan, Khachatur Gichyan and Karo Yeghnukyan, accused of supporting the armed group, are also released from custody.

Hovhannes Vardanyan, a member of the “Sasna Tsrer” group charged with seizing the regiment of the Police of the Republic of Armenia and committing a series of serious crimes in Armenia in 2016, was investigated, in particular, for hostage-taking, as well as illegal possession, storage, transportation and theft of ammunition.
