Defendants Harutyun Torosyan, Hrayr Isakhanyan, Andranik Qyoseyan and Eduard Zeytunyan on “Sari Tagh” case are released from detention under the decision of judge Anna Danibekyan.
Torosyan, Isakhanyan and Zeytunyan are released on their own recognizance, and Qyoseyan on cash bail amounting to 700.000 AMD.
The aforementioned three defendants were released from the hall of the court and Qyoseyan was taken to the penitentiary. When the mentioned amount is transferred to the court’s deposit account, he will be released from detention.
The arbitrations on releasing Sari Tagh residents from detention were represented by advocates Grisha Balasanyan and Liparit Simonyan. “As a ground for the arbitration we had represented the fact that the plaintiffs – the police officers were majorly questioned by the court on this case: our defendants do not have any levers to exert an influence over the witnesses,” said Grisha Balasanyan.
Let us add that prosecutor Gevorg Gevorgyan did not object to the arbitrations, except for Andranik Qyoseyan’s case, inasmuch as the latter has a case in process. His advocate, Liparit Simonyan mentioned that a decision to release Qyoseyan on cash bail was required, which was made.
Sari Tagh residents are accused of applying violence over the police officers during the incident in Sari Tagh on July 19, after the occupation of police patrol.
Let us remind you that days on Sari Tagh was deprived of gas and water and the road to Khorenatsi Street and the police patrol regiment was closed (the territory was occupied by “Sasna Tsrer” armed group), in the result of which the residents came out to the street to protest: clashes took place between them and the police, a dozen of citizens were taken into detention.
