“I do not foresee changes in the near future either. The sides, in essence, state that they are preparing for a war. Let us hope the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs will be more creative and try to stop the danger”, German political scientist Alexander Rar said in an interview with “168 hours”. In his opinion, the Co-Chairs can use the changes in Armenia in favor of the conflict settlement. “Whether how, they know better”, Rar noted.
Military expert Pavel Felgenhauer says that the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan are voicing warlike rhetoric.
“I can hardly call it diplomacy, in the case of the Armenian Prime Minister, diplomacy and war rhetoric are mixed, there is a desire to reach dictating positions in the negotiation process. Naturally, it is difficult to expect that in this situation Azerbaijan will agree with Artsakh’s participation in the negotiation process, Azerbaijan completely refuses this possibility, and it is ready for war rather than such concessions”.
