Diaspora Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan was in the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund to get acquainted with the activities implemented and planned by the executive director Ara Vardanyan. After a private conversation with Vardanyan, he informed the journalists that he was interested in how the Ministry of Diaspora worked with the fund before his tenure. “I would like not to touch upon the previous partnership, but I think we will work together more actively in the near future. The state-funds partnership should be closer”.
Mkhitar Hayrapetyan said that they have not discussed any plans with the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund yet, and as a result of subsequent discussions that are not excluded: “The use of Diaspora’s potential and repatriation are our priorities, and we can work together with the Fund in this field”.
Journalists asked: “You do not comment on the activities of the previous Minister, but do you have the conclusion that more money could be collected from Diaspora benefactors?”. The Minister responded: “Collecting money is not our problem, asking for money is not the issue, but the new quality of communication with the Diaspora. If the trust of Diaspora Armenians increases, as a result, we will be ready to work with them”.
