“Very welcoming, very good statement. After all, he was president for two terms, and now he has assumed this commitment in the transitional period. This means that the tradition both in Armenia and in Artsakh that the head of the government remains in power indefinitely, is broken”, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan told reporters in parliament, highly appreciating the decision of Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan not to propose his candidacy for the president’s post in the upcoming elections.
“We understand that authoritarianism is born when leaders become irreplaceable. The more democratic and the two Armenian states are, the more favorable it will be for the settlement of the conflict”, said Shavarsh Kocharyan.
