“Yerevan” foundation director Ashot Ghazaryan and deputy head of Davitashen administrative district, Khachatur Kirakosyan are arrested.
During the interview with Aravot.am the head of media department of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, Samson Galstyan confirmed the information, adding that the arrest of those persons has taken place within the framework of the initiated criminal case.
After carrying out special operations in the foundation functioning in the building of Yerevan Municipality since yesterday morning, the National Security Service took several bags of documents (see the photograph).
According to the official message of the NSS, “On June 13 it was revealed that the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia was reported by the citizens of the Republic of Armenia V. G. and A. Kh. that Yerevan Municipality officials have demanded to transfer large amounts of money to “Yerevan” foundation for issuing respective licenses for construction and property registration besides the payments envisaged upon law.
During the preparation of materials it was revealed that a part of the received cash money for the aforementioned reason was not entered to the bank account of the foundation and was stolen.
Grounded by the reports on the crimes, a criminal case has been initiated in the Investigation Department of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia upon Part 2 (“On the abuse of official power leading to accidental heavy consequences) of Article 308 and Provision 1.1 (“Fraud by abuse of official power”) of Part 2 of Article 178 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia
