The number of citizens having renounced their membership from the Republican Party of Armenia made up 1500 yesterday, informed the Chair of Organizing Committee of the Republican Party of Armenia, Ruben Tadevosyan. “This number of people are registered. But the works proceed, we will have the clear image in days,” said Tadevosyan.
Asked if there were leaders of regional structures among the persons who renounced their membership besides already former governor of Vardenis, V. Khloyan, the Chair mentioned: “A couple of persons as well, they are not governors nevertheless, deputy governors. The process is going on, people speak out their political position.”
Moreover, “Zhoghovurd” newspaper published on June 1 that 600 people had renounced their membership from the RPA. It means that in 2 weeks the number of persons having renounced the RPA membership has tripled.
Another noteworthy fact – 1500 members have renounced with written application, but the number of citizens having left the Republican party without official statements constitutes even more.
