Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Lebanese ambassador to Armenia Maya Dagher. The parties discussed a number of issues related to the further development and deepening of Armenian-Lebanese relations. Nikol Pashinyan hailed the current level of bilateral political dialogue and considered it necessary to expand the scope of economic ties.
“We can see good prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the economic sphere and we are confident that through joint efforts we will be able to achieve concrete results,” Nikol Pashinyan said, adding that the Lebanese investors can get involved in our country’s three free economic zones, which offer a favorable business-conducive environment. The Premier thanked Lebanon for its position as regards the Armenian Genocide and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Ambassador Dagher highlighted the Armenian community’s important role in Lebanon’s political and public life and expressed confidence that the two governments will be able to build on the bilateral ties through close interaction. Noting that a delegation of Lebanese businessmen is going to visit Armenia in the near future, the Ambassador advised that the Lebanese President will arrive in our country this autumn to attend the Francophonie Summit in Yerevan.
A number of other issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
